GREETINGS FROM THE GENERAL CHAIR
Welcome to Hsinchu, Taiwan for the 3rd International Conference on Information Technology: Research and Education (ITRE 2005).
Information Technology (IT) is enabling enormous developments in various application areas that are playing vital role in today's global economy. ITRE 2005 is dedicated to Information Technology with specific focus on its research and education. The mission of ITRE 2005 is to provide a forum for IT professionals, researchers, and educators in which to share insights, research results, and experiences of the current state-of-the-art information technologies, pedagogy and academic-industry collaborations, and to contribute to a vision of the future of IT that will shape the emerging high-tech workforce.
The ITRE 2005 technical program consists of 17 technical sessions and one panel discussion, together with four high-quality tutorials by distinguished experts in IT field. Hsinchu, situated in the northern part of Taiwan, is known as the ˇ§Silicon Valleyˇ¨ of Taiwan. ITRE 2005 also includes a tour to the Hsinchu Science-Based Park, which is home of many internationally well-known high-tech companies, and the Industrial Technology Research Institute, which is a renowned organization that has played a pivotal role in development of industrial technologies for high-tech industries in Taiwan. We believe you will enjoy this in-depth program of ITRE 2005. I sincerely hope that your participation in this conference will be an enjoyable and fruitful one.
